Four masked men armed with cutlasses robbed Gourmet Palace Supermarket on Rochard Douglas Road, Barrackpore on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at approximately 8:55 PM. The men entered the supermarket and beat a 23-year-old security guard who was on duty at the time. The robbers took $40,000 in cash from a safe, an undisclosed sum from the cash registers, and several cartons of assorted cigarettes. The suspects then fled the scene in a grey-coloured Honda City. Police are investigating the armed robbery; no arrests have been made at this time.
