Mt LambertPregnant Woman Stabbed 15 Times by Known Man; Suspect Attempts Suicide

Circular Road West, Mt Lambert, San Juan, San Juan - Laventille

A pregnant woman was stabbed approximately 15 times in the abdomen, neck, and hands by a man she knows at an apartment on Circular Road West, Mt Lambert on Friday morning, June 26, 2026 around 8:15 a.m. Residents heard a commotion from the apartment, which the man and woman—both Customs officers—had occupied for the past month. Three units from the St Joseph Police Station responded and found the victim with critical injuries; she was immediately transported to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope. The suspect locked himself in the apartment after the stabbing and allegedly attempted to end his own life; police officers borrowed a crowbar from a neighbour to gain entry and reportedly prevented him from succeeding, though the method he attempted was not disclosed. The suspect was taken to the St Joseph Police Station where he remained being questioned throughout the evening; the victim remained in critical condition at hospital.
