Wharf Trace, near a shop, Maracas Valley, St Joseph, St Augustine, Tunapuna - Piarco

Teenager Kevell Callender, 17, was shot in the head on Wharf Trace, Maracas Valley, St Joseph around 11 p.m. on Tuesday night. His mother heard a gunshot from inside their home and then heard people calling her to come outside, where she found her son lying on the roadway near a shop with a gunshot wound to his head. With assistance from her husband, she transported Callender to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope, where he was admitted in critical condition. Police attended the scene but were unable to determine a motive for the shooting at the time of the report. Officers from the St Joseph Police Station are investigating the incident; no arrests have been made.
