A man (Geddis Emmanuel Parks) was shot and killed on Upper La Canoa Road near Singh View, Santa Cruz during the early hours of Sunday, July 5, 2026 following a violent confrontation. The deceased allegedly attacked another man with a hammer, striking at him during the confrontation. The other man allegedly pulled a firearm and discharged three shots into the victim's chest before fleeing the scene. The injured man collapsed on the roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Officers from the North Eastern Division and investigators from the Region Two Homicide Bureau responded and processed the crime scene, recovering three spent shell casings and the hammer used in the confrontation. The deceased has not been formally identified as of publication. Investigations are ongoing.
