A Santa Cruz woman was robbed and assaulted on the northern side of South Quay near City Gate, Port of Spain on Monday, July 6, 2026, shortly before 11:00 AM. A man of African descent ran up from behind, grabbed her $350 travel bag, and when she resisted, violently pushed her to the ground and fled with the bag. The stolen bag contained her lunch kit, eyeglasses, a Custom & Excise bag, and other items. The victim was physically assaulted during the robbery and left on the ground. Police are investigating the incident; no arrests have been reported.
