A 39-year-old man was robbed of two Spanish link gold chains valued at $21,100 on Naparima Mayaro Road in New Grant around 11:30 p.m. on June 28, 2026, after attending a christening event. One suspect, identified as "Joe Joe" of New Grant, struck the victim in the head with a firearm, causing him to fall to the ground. The suspects then stole the gold chains and escaped on foot. Police identified four suspects in total: "Joe Joe", his brother (also from New Grant), a man with brown complexion and waist-length dreadlocks, and another man with an afro hairstyle. Investigations are ongoing as police continue efforts to locate the suspects and recover the stolen jewellery.
