A 31-year-old plumber's grey Nissan Note (registration PDL 8351), valued at approximately $130,000, was stolen from First Avenue, Barataria near Don Miguel Savannah on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 around 6:45 p.m. The driver had left the vehicle idling while he stepped into nearby bushes to urinate; when he returned moments later, the car was gone. Police launched investigations immediately after the theft was reported. Transit Police officers spotted the stolen vehicle around 8 p.m. travelling west along the Priority Bus Route near Fernandez without headlights and allegedly running a traffic light. Officers pursued the vehicle, which ended along Upper Pashley Street in Laventille where the occupants abandoned the Nissan and fled on foot into a dark area. The vehicle was recovered; however, the suspects escaped and remain at large.
