A man was seriously injured in a cutlass attack at a house in La Plata Gardens, Valencia on Sunday around 3:30 p.m. A verbal dispute between two men escalated into a physical confrontation before they were separated by others present at the scene. The suspect later returned armed with a cutlass and attacked the victim, inflicting several wounds to the head, neck and upper body. The injured man was transported by ambulance to Sangre Grande Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The suspect was still at the scene when officers from the Valencia Police Post and Valencia CID arrived; he was cautioned and taken into custody. Crime Scene Investigators were expected to process the scene as inquiries continue.
