San JuanMan Critical After Brutal Stabbing in Mini Mart

Gabriel Lawrence, 25, of Quarry Road, San Juan, was repeatedly stabbed inside E&A Mini Mart on Jones Trace around 2:19 p.m.

Gabriel Lawrence, 25, of Quarry Road, San Juan, was repeatedly stabbed inside E&A Mini Mart on Jones Trace around 2:19 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. Lawrence sustained five stab wounds during the violent confrontation, including two to the neck, two to the back, and one to the right ear. A suspect known by the alias 'Ping' entered the establishment moments after Lawrence arrived, and was seen running from the mini mart as Lawrence emerged bleeding from multiple wounds. Lawrence managed to reach the roadway where a neighbour transported him to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex for emergency treatment. Doctors confirmed Lawrence remained in critical condition and was scheduled to undergo a CT scan; investigators were unable to interview him due to the severity of his injuries. Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect identified as 'Ping'.
