Thieves broke into SCL Trinidad Limited's compound in San Juan and stole nearly $17,000 worth of tools and equipment on Monday, July 20, 2026. An employee left the business at approximately 3:20 p.m. and returned after 6:15 a.m. the following morning, when co-workers alerted him to the burglary. Suspects cut and pushed aside barbed wire atop the perimeter wall to gain entry to the secured area. A storage cabinet in the welding shed was forced open, and multiple items were taken including two angle grinders, a chop saw, a MIG welding plant, three rolls of welding wire, a hammer drill, and a rotary hammer drill kit. The stolen equipment has an estimated value of $16,964.40. Police are investigating the break-in; no arrests have been made.
