Man stabbed multiple times during altercation (37-year-old Diego Martin victim)

Corner of Brunton and Quamina Street, St. James, Port of Spain

A 37-year-old Diego Martin resident was seated in his parked vehicle at the corner of Brunton and Quamina Street in St. James when he was approached by Akil Arthur, who was known to him. Arthur, the boyfriend of the victim's child's mother, forcibly opened the vehicle's door and attacked the victim with a knife. A struggle ensued outside the vehicle before Arthur fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. The victim subsequently drove himself to the St. James Medical Centre, where he crashed his vehicle. He was taken inside the facility, treated and stabilized by medical staff before being transferred to the Port of Spain General Hospital, where he remains under care.
