Gunmen open fire in Diego Martin: One killed, three wounded (Tyrrell Mc Eachnie, 25)

Around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, three armed men exited a grey-coloured sedan on Bagatelle Road near the track opposite Pine Lane and opened fire indiscriminately at persons on the street. Four victims were struck by gunfire: 25-year-old Tyrrell Mc Eachnie of Bagatelle Road, a 24-year-old woman from El Dorado, an 18-year-old male resident of Bagatelle, and a 56-year-old woman from Queen Drive. Mc Eachnie was pronounced dead at St. James Medical Facility. The 18-year-old male was treated for gunshot wounds to the back and legs and transferred to Port of Spain General Hospital in stable condition. The 24-year-old woman and 56-year-old woman were treated for leg and calf injuries respectively and listed in stable condition. Police recovered 40 spent shells and 23 marked TTPS cartridges at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
