Claxton Bay16-Year-Old Shot in Leg While Walking Home from Girlfriend's House

Rose Hill Extension, Rose Hill, Claxton Bay, Couva - Tabaquite - Talparo

A 16-year-old boy from Rose Hill, Claxton Bay was shot in the right calf on Rose Hill Extension in the early hours of Saturday, August 2, 2025, around 3:00 a.m. The teen had just left his girlfriend's home and was walking south along Rose Hill Extension when a masked gunman emerged from bushes on the western side of the road and shouted a threat before firing. The victim heard a loud explosion and felt a burning sensation in his right calf, causing him to fall to the ground. The gunman escaped by running in an easterly direction. Emergency Health Services personnel responded and transported the victim for medical treatment. Police officers visited the scene and are continuing investigations into the incident.
