Sammerson was reportedly shot several times about the body, including a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt. Hope, where he later died while receiving medical treatment. Sammerson was known to operate a business in the Curepe Junction area. Police investigation into the circumstances and motive is ongoing.
