Kerwin Sammerson, also known as "Bellies," a shop owner at the Curepe Junction, was shot and killed during an incident in Maracas, St. Joseph on Monday, February 9th, 2026. Sammerson was reportedly shot several times about the body, including a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt. Hope, where he later died while receiving medical treatment. Sammerson was known to operate a business in the Curepe Junction area. Police investigation into the circumstances and motive is ongoing.
