A 45-year-old lotto booth operator from East Dry River, Port of Spain, was robbed on Saturday, February 7, 2026, around 7:25 p.m. while walking along Broome Street in Diego Martin. The victim had just left work and was returning to retrieve his forgotten mobile phone when an unknown male approached him from behind and pressed an unknown object against his back, announcing a robbery. The suspect forcibly took a black plastic bag containing approximately TT$10,000 in cash from lotto sales (February 5-7), four Set For Life scratch cards valued at TT$20 each, and one Cash King scratch card valued at TT$100. The suspect was described as a male wearing a dark-colored hoodie with a red bandana covering his face. The suspect fled the scene on foot, running east along Broome Street. Police are investigating the incident.
