Curtis “Bird” Pierre was shot and killed on Saturday night during a suspected altercation at the corner of Ramnarine Drive, Bamboo #3, near Naafa's Pizza in the early hours of Sunday, February 22, 2026, shortly after 1 a.m. Preliminary information indicates the man was involved in a confrontation moments before he was fatally injured. When emergency responders and media arrived at the scene, a pool of blood was visible on the roadway along with scattered items including a damaged wristwatch and pepper sauce bottle, indicating signs of a violent struggle. Amateur cell phone footage circulating on social media showed the body on the roadway with one of the man's shoes displaced nearby. The displaced footwear, damaged watch, and scattered items at the scene support the theory of a physical altercation prior to the fatal incident. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
