A 25-year-old sales specialist at Royal Bank was assaulted during a home invasion in his upstairs apartment in Woodford Gardens, Chaguanas in the early hours of Monday around 3:50 a.m. The victim was awoken by a flashing light and saw a man armed with a cutlass inside his apartment. During a struggle, the victim was struck on the top of his head, sustaining serious injuries including a fractured skull. The suspect fled through a window. He is described as a male of African descent, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, dark-skinned, of medium build, wearing a black T-shirt and cargo shorts, and armed with a cutlass. The victim sought medical attention at the Chaguanas Health Facility, where he was examined and listed in stable condition with a fractured skull. Police are investigating the incident.
