Form Three student held with 14 packets of marijuana (Age 15)

San Juan North Secondary School, San Juan, San Juan - Laventille

A 15-year-old Form Three student of San Juan North Secondary School was detained on Monday afternoon, February 23, 2026, after police officers allegedly found multiple packets of marijuana on his person while on the school compound. Around 2:28 PM, PC Hilliare was on duty at the school when a guidance officer relayed information about the student. The officer proceeded to the guidance office where the student and four other pupils were present and requested the teen shake his pants legs. A transparent plastic bag containing 14 small packets of plant-like material suspected to be marijuana fell from the student's pants and was seized by police. The teen was cautioned in accordance with the Children's Judges Rules but reportedly remained silent throughout the interaction. The substance has been taken into police custody for further analysis and processing.
