Storage container at WASA treatment plant broken into, equipment stolen

Beetham Highway, Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) Waste Water Treatment Plant, Port of Spain

A locked storage container at the WASA Waste Water Treatment Plant along the Beetham Highway was broken into between February 27 and March 25, 2026. The container had been secured with a deadbolt and padlock on February 27 at approximately 8:00 a.m. when items were placed inside. Upon returning on March 25, 2026 at approximately 9:30 a.m., the individual discovered the padlock missing and the deadbolt tampered with. A subsequent check revealed multiple items missing from the container. Stolen items included a Samsung microwave, a coffee maker, a grey refrigerator, two four-foot bulbs, two shower heads, two 20-foot ladders, and other small items. No arrests or police investigation details were reported.
