Father dies after attack during SEA celebration outing (Rajkumar Pope)

Shop (location not specified), San Fernando

Rajkumar Pope, employed at the Engineering Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, was attacked by a suspect at a shop around 6:30 pm on Friday. The suspect grabbed Pope's neck and punched him repeatedly in the head; Pope fought back and a scuffle ensued. Pope's wife and the suspect's father intervened to separate them. Pope's eyes were swollen and he complained of severe head pains. While paramedics treated him at home, blood began flowing from his mouth and nose, prompting his family to rush him to San Fernando General Hospital. Pope died after 9 pm at the hospital. The Homicide Bureau, Region 3, is continuing investigations.
