Belmont man gunned down in Curepe (Ashton Hernandez, 26)

Gordon Street, Curepe, St Augustine, Tunapuna - Piarco

Ashton Hernandez, 26, of Davis Street, Belmont, was found dead in a drain along Gordon Street in Curepe on Saturday, March 28, 2026, around 6:55 p.m. after reports of a loud explosion alerted police. Hernandez was discovered with several spent shell casings recovered nearby, indicating a targeted shooting. Police are investigating the incident, which has heightened concerns in Belmont following another violent shooting on Davis Street days earlier.
