Charles Street near Extraordinary Doors / Baptiste Street, Gasparillo, Couva - Tabaquite - Talparo

Brandon De Vlugt, 29, was attacked around 12:25 a.m. on Charles Street near Extraordinary Doors by three men in a silver Toyota who struck him with a metal object, causing multiple chop wounds. De Vlugt managed to escape and hid under a tarpaulin on Baptiste Street, where police found him bleeding at 2:10 a.m. He was transported to San Fernando General Hospital and treated for multiple chop wounds to his hip, neck, and head, fractures to both hands, hip, spinal cord, and skull, and a brain laceration causing hemorrhaging.
