Elderly man injured in cutlass attack outside Tobago supermarket (Victor Cato, 63)

Hampden Road, outside Kadd's supermarket, Tobago

Victor Cato, 63, of Mt Grace, was attacked with a cutlass while attending to his vehicle outside Kadd's supermarket on Hampden Road, Lowlands, around 10:40 p.m. on March 30, 2026. A man described as behaving erratically approached Cato from behind and struck him multiple times about the head and face with the cutlass before fleeing on a bicycle. Bystanders assisted the injured man, who was transported by ambulance to Scarborough General Hospital where he is reported in stable condition.
