Sherman Lambkin, a state witness in a previous murder case, was shot dead in his Valencia home around 2:45 AM on Good Friday. A gunman kicked open the kitchen door as Lambkin entered, opening fire multiple times before standing over him and continuing to shoot. Lambkin's wife, who was asleep in the house, heard multiple loud explosions and saw flashes as her husband fell. She found him unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to the head, upper body, chest, right hand and left leg. Police from Sangre Grande Police Station, Valencia Police Post, and the Arouca Homicide Bureau responded. Crime Scene Investigators processed the scene and recovered items of evidential value. A post-mortem examination was ordered.
