MayaroMan Assaults Two Police Officers During Arrest

Mayaro Police Station, Mayaro, Mayaro - Rio Claro

A 36-year-old man violently resisted arrest at Mayaro Police Station around 2:15 a.m. on Monday, kicking and striking two responding officers (PC Sutherland and PC Charles) during a struggle that lasted several minutes. Additional officers including Cpl Mahadeo arrived to assist in subduing the suspect. Both officers sought medical attention at Mayaro District Hospital and were treated and discharged. One officer's Samsung Galaxy cellphone, valued at $2,650, was also damaged during the altercation.
