A fire broke out at a three-bedroom concrete house owned by businesswoman Fareeda Balgobin on Deosaran Trace, San Francique, Penal early Wednesday morning, destroying the property valued at $1.98 million. Fire officers responded shortly after 6 a.m. and contained the blaze, preventing it from spreading to neighbouring properties, but the building was gutted. Police observed a broken bedroom window and evidence of a Molotov cocktail at the scene, prompting a formal investigation into suspected arson. No one was home at the time and there were no injuries reported.
