Domestic worker Sabita Basdeo, 42, was beaten, had her head banged against a wall, burned, and held against her will by residents of a house in Penal. She was taken for medical treatment for bruises on her body and face, and marks of discolouration. A 38-year-old woman and her 17-year-old son suspected of holding her captive and assaulting her were arrested by police on Saturday and are expected to face multiple charges. Investigators have interviewed Basdeo and are expected to seek legal instructions on whether to lay charges against the suspects.
