On March 20, 2026, a female victim was approached from behind in her home in Barrackpore. The accused allegedly covered her mouth, began choking her, and dragged her to the back of the premises with intent to sexually assault her. The victim escaped by hitting the suspect on the foot with a stone and raising an alarm. The 22-year-old man appeared before South Ajipa Court on March 24, 2026, facing charges of Attempted Rape and Choking with Intent. Bail was granted at $75,000 with surety, with next hearing scheduled for April 21, 2026.
