Four people, including a nine-year-old child, were shot and killed in a red Mitsubishi Lancer on Lady Young Road, Morvant on Sunday night around 7:45 p.m. near a Seventh-day Adventist church and pedestrian walkover. The vehicle came under heavy gunfire and crashed shortly after being shot at. The four victims have since been identified as: Obataiye Okerian Latiff, 23, of Eight Street, Don Miguel Road, San Juan; Chelsea Edwards, 20, of Senior Street, Belle Eau Road, Belmont; Asim Armstrong of McShine Road, Belmont; and nine-year-old J'Layna Armstrong of Nicholasville, San Juan. A fifth person, Cornelius Smart, 23, was shot twice in the back and remains in stable condition at hospital. Family members arrived at the scene in distress as officers processed the crime scene. A manhunt has been launched for the suspects who fled.
