Emon Lane, near bread shop, Valencia

Dexter Ferreira, 52, an Arima Borough Corporation employee, was shot and killed on Emon Lane, Valencia on Tuesday, April 21st, shortly before 10 p.m. while stopping at a nearby shop to buy bread. Ferreira was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds minutes after loud explosions were heard in the area. He was rushed to Sangre Grande Hospital but succumbed to his injuries around 10:15 p.m. This marks the second murder on Emon Lane within 48 hours, leaving the Valencia community shaken.
