Lezama Trace, St. John Road, Nancoo Village, Couva - Tabaquite - Talparo

Two residents of Lezama Trace, St. John Road, South Oropouche were robbed of jewelry valued at $7,500 during a violent home invasion on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 around 7:00 a.m. A 48-year-old woman was struck on the head with a blunt object by one of two masked intruders as she approached an outdoor bathroom; both men then forced entry through a rear door. Inside the home, the suspects confronted a 39-year-old male occupant. One armed suspect announced the robbery and assaulted him; during the struggle, the victim pushed the firearm away and a loud explosion was heard, indicating a shot was fired. The intruders stole a gold chain valued at $3,000 and a gold wedding ring valued at $4,500 before fleeing on foot through the rear door. Police are investigating; no arrests reported.
