A 75-year-old courier was the victim of an armed robbery in Barataria around 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025, shortly after returning from a bank transaction in San Juan. Two men in dark clothing, one armed with a firearm, exited a silver Nissan Tiida and confronted the victim. One suspect cuffed the courier in the face before they stole an envelope containing $13,000 in cash. The suspects fled in the Nissan Tiida along Chootoo Road. Police later recovered the getaway vehicle, registered as PDJ 6595, in the Beverly Hills area and determined it was stolen in Gasparillo on December 10.
