Two men hospitalized after violent altercation with cutlass and stone (Zaid Kelley, 28; Adrian Thompson, 38)

Grell Street, Siparia (near Mohammed's Auto Supplies), Siparia

Two men were hospitalized following a violent altercation involving a cutlass and stone along Grell Street in Siparia on Saturday, June 14th, 2025 around 7:20 p.m. Zaid Kelley, 28, was found bleeding heavily outside his home with multiple severe injuries including a 5cm forehead laceration with skull fracture, an 8cm laceration on the right temporal scalp, and additional wounds to the left scalp, shoulders, clavicle, knee, and back. He was initially treated at Siparia District Health Facility and later transferred to San Fernando General Hospital due to injury severity. Adrian Thompson, 38, of Welcome Peters Street reported that around 7:14 p.m. he was walking along Grell Street when Kelley allegedly threw a stone at him, striking his head. Thompson claimed that during the ensuing confrontation, Kelley attacked him with a cutlass, causing injuries to his left hand. Both men were hospitalized with documented injuries from the altercation. Police are investigating the circumstances and conflicting accounts of who initiated the violence.
