Driver shot multiple times in ambush attack (30-year-old)

Cemetery Road, South Oropouche, La Fortune , Penal - Debe

A 30-year-old driver was shot multiple times in a targeted ambush attack outside his home on Cemetery Road, South Oropouche on Monday, June 16th, 2025 at approximately 8:50 p.m. The victim had just returned from work and was locking his grey Nissan Almera when he was approached by a suspect dressed in dark clothing, wearing a hoodie and mask. The suspect pointed a firearm at the victim and fired three shots, striking him in the mid-chest, left upper back, and left shoulder. The victim reported feeling a burning sensation from the gunshot wounds. The assailant fled the scene on foot through the nearby cemetery. Officers from the South Western Division Emergency Response Patrol and South Western Division Task Force responded to the incident. The victim was transported by Emergency Health Services to San Fernando General Hospital, where he was treated and remains in stable condition.
