Adrian Meade, 25, of Lopinot Housing Development, Arouca, was shot and killed on Royal Promenade Road near Market Street on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at approximately 11:10 p.m. during a drive-by shooting. Meade was seated in the front passenger seat of a white Honda Fit (registration PCD 6297) when a white Hyundai Elantra pulled onto the roadway from Eastern Main Road and stopped ahead of them; two armed men then exited and opened fire, sending multiple rounds into the vehicle. Two other occupants sustained gunshot injuries: Israel Elcock, 23, the driver, was shot in the right shoulder, and Tariq Decoteau, 23, the rear passenger, was shot in the middle of the back. Both were treated at Arima Hospital and listed in stable condition. The driver sped off after the attack but stopped after feeling a burning sensation from his wound; the two survivors then fled on foot before being assisted by emergency personnel. Crime Scene investigators recovered 15 spent 5.56 shell casings and nine 9mm casings at the scene. The vehicle was processed and removed for examination, and the body was taken to a funeral home pending forensic work. Officers from the Arouca CID are investigating the motive; no arrests have been made.
