A 17-year-old boy and his 63-year-old grandfather were robbed and assaulted during a violent home invasion at their Mora Dam Road home in Penal around 3 AM on Monday, May 18. Five masked men, two armed with firearms, confronted the teenager outside the house, struck him on the head, and forced him inside after he attempted to lock the front door. Both victims were tied with electrical cords and beaten; the grandfather was struck during the ordeal.
