A 63-year-old watchman and his 17-year-old grandson were robbed at their Penal home by five masked armed men on Monday around 3 a.m. The bandits forced entry by kicking open the front door, struck the watchman on the head, and dragged the grandson to a shed at the front of the property. The victims' hands were bound with electrical cords and the grandson was beaten while the bandits demanded the boat engine. The perpetrators stole a 15-horsepower boat engine and a cell phone from the shed. The victims later freed themselves and reported the incident to police. A multi-unit police response including Siparia CID, Penal CID, Highway Patrol Response Team, and Emergency Response Patrol searched for the perpetrators but made no arrests.
