BaratariaPolice Destroy 30 Marijuana Trees in Anti-Crime Operation

Abandoned area, Barataria district, San Juan, San Juan - Laventille

North Eastern Division officers discovered and destroyed 30 fully grown marijuana trees in an abandoned area of the Barataria district on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 during an intelligence-led anti-crime exercise. The operation took place between 11 am and 4 pm as part of a coordinated sweep in the district. The marijuana plants were seized and subsequently destroyed as evidence of illegal cultivation. Investigations are ongoing into the matter.
