Officers of the Eastern Division Task Force (EDTF) conducted a roving road check and intelligence-led operation across the Sangre Grande district on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, between 8:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., targeting known drug-trafficking hotspots including Jacob Coat, North Eastern Settlement; Robinson Lane, Damarie Hill, Guaico; Moolchan Street; Shoppes of Cunapo; and Quash Trace. During the operation, a 24-year-old man of Morrison Trace, Manzanilla was arrested for Possession of Cocaine and Failing to Give Fingerprint Impressions; approximately two grams of cocaine were found in his possession. Acting on intelligence, officers searched a bushy area approximately 15 feet north of the roadway in a Sangre Grande settlement, where they discovered a black shoulder bag containing a silver and brown revolver loaded with three rounds of .38 calibre ammunition. The firearm and ammunition were seized as evidence, and investigations are ongoing.
