MaloneyFirearm and Ammunition Seized in Intelligence-Led Operation

Building 20, Maloney, Piarco, Tunapuna - Piarco

Police seized a .380 calibre firearm and 18 rounds of ammunition during an intelligence-led operation in the Maloney district on Saturday, June 21, 2026. The operation was conducted between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. under the provisions of the State of Emergency Regulations and was spearheaded by senior officers from the Maloney Police Station, including Supt McKenzie, ASP Balewa, ASP Morales, Insp Smith, W/Sgt Ramai, and other officers. Officers executed coordinated searches at two residences located at Building 20, Maloney, resulting in the arrest of two men, aged 23 and 24, who were taken into custody pending further enquiries. In a follow-up search based on intelligence, officers conducted a sweep of an area behind Building 20, where the firearm and ammunition were discovered and seized.
