A 64-year-old woman was left critically injured and a six-year-old child was found tied up during a home invasion at Edinburgh 500, Chaguanas on June 27, 2026 between 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM. Several men forcibly entered the residence and assaulted the elderly woman, leaving her bleeding and unresponsive on the ground. When a relative arrived around 11:00 AM, she discovered the child restrained inside the house and the woman lying in a pool of blood. Emergency services were contacted immediately and the woman was transported to hospital where she required oxygen support. Police confirmed that a quantity of jewellery was stolen from the home, with the value yet to be determined. Police enquiries are continuing into the incident.
