A dark blue Hyundai Tucson bearing registration PEG 8489 was carjacked by three armed men in Barataria between 2:00am and 2:30am on June 28, 2026. The vehicle was stolen from its parked location by the armed suspects. Hours later, around 6:00am, police received information that the SUV was being dismantled for parts at Marshall Lane, Upper Erica Street, Rock City, Laventille. Officers responded and found the vehicle with several key components already removed. Investigations into the carjacking and subsequent vehicle stripping are continuing; no arrests have been made.
