An employee of a construction company had $19,000 stolen from his vehicle in Marabella on Friday around 10:45 a.m., moments after withdrawing the cash from Republic Bank. The man parked near his home and left the money inside the vehicle; when he returned shortly after, the cash was gone. CCTV footage allegedly showed occupants of a silver Toyota Axio removing the cash from the vehicle before driving away. Officers from the Gasparillo Operations Team tracked the stolen vehicle from the Southern Division into the Northern Division and recovered the $19,000 at a home in Phase 4, La Horquetta. A suspect was arrested and a 9mm magazine issued to the T&T Police Service, along with 10 rounds of ammunition, were also recovered during the search. PC Sammy is continuing investigations.
