Rio ClaroPolice Seize Cannabis, Ammunition in Drug Trafficking Operation

Three men were arrested during an intelligence-led anti-crime operation at the Mayaro/Rio Claro Regional Corporation car park and vending booths on Naparima Mayaro Road, Rio Claro on Friday, July 3rd, 2026 between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Officers observed several people approaching a vending booth, handing over cash to the three suspects and receiving quantities of cannabis before leaving the area. Police searched the suspects and recovered 174 grammes of cannabis, five rounds of 9mm ammunition, a quantity of cash, a scale and transparent plastic bags believed to be used for packaging drugs. Emmanuel Neckles, 23, of Campbell Trace; Marcus Francis, 27, of Naparima Mayaro Road, Union Village; and Isaiah Francis, 29, also of Naparima Mayaro Road, Union Village, are being questioned in relation to trafficking in cannabis, possession of ammunition, obscene language and resisting arrest. The operation was coordinated by Senior Superintendent Ettiene, Superintendent Beharry, Assistant Superintendent Lee Tang, Inspector Harper and Inspector Jagroo as part of Operation Resolute.
