Walke Street, Sangre Grande

Terrance James, 24, of Matura was kidnapped and robbed on Walke Street, Sangre Grande early Saturday morning, July 4, 2026, after boarding what he believed was a taxi—a white Nissan wagon driven by a man he knew. Inside the vehicle were two additional male occupants; one from the back seat placed a rope around James's neck while the trio robbed him of his cellphone and $400 TTD cash. James was then tied up with a white jersey placed over his head and transported to another location where he was beaten and forced to drink a liquid that caused him to become drowsy. James reported the incident to police; the investigation is ongoing with no arrests reported at the time of publication.
