A Trinidad and Tobago Police Service U-Turn electronic ticketing device assigned to the Central Division Task Force was stolen and later recovered from a 43-year-old homeless man on Thursday, July 9, 2026. The device went missing from police custody; checks of the police vehicle and the task force base failed to locate it. While the suspect was receiving medical treatment at the Chaguanas Health Facility following his arrest for assault, an acting corporal observed an object fall from his clothing, which appeared to be the missing TTPS ticketing device. When questioned about his possession of the device, the man stated, "Dais mine." The suspect was arrested on suspicion of larceny of Government property. Police are investigating the circumstances of the theft and recovery.
