High-voltage power cables connected to a 12,000-volt circuit breaker at the junction of Seebalack Avenue and Pagee Trace were cut and stolen between June 19 and 20, 2026, causing a widespread power outage. Four high-voltage (HV) cables supplying approximately 30 pad-mounted transformers installed in the Fairfield development were severed. The vandalism affected approximately 450 residents across the HDC's Fairfield development and surrounding areas including Craignish, Indian Walk, Buen Intento, Mathilda and New Grant.
