A Chaguanas businessman operating in the food industry lost more than $1.3 million after cybercriminals gained unauthorized access to his commercial bank account and transferred the funds without authorization. The victim immediately reported the matter to his bank and was able to recover a portion of the stolen funds. The incident is now under investigation by the bank and relevant authorities. Business leaders have warned that this represents part of a growing wave of sophisticated online banking fraud targeting commercial accounts across Trinidad and Tobago.
