A 35-year-old Malabar, Arima resident reported losing more than $9,000 in cash and valuables after his home was broken into early Wednesday morning, July 15, 2026. The victim had secured his doors and windows around 2:00 a.m. before going to bed, but was awakened around 6:00 a.m. by a loud noise and discovered a front bedroom window had been forced open. A PlayStation valued at $8,000 and two bottles containing 25-cent coins were missing from inside the home, and the victim's vehicle had also been opened with $1,000 in cash stolen. Police investigations are continuing into the incident; no arrests have been made.
