Police seize 45 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition in Arima

Hoyte Avenue, Pinto Road, near the savannah, Arima, Santa Rosa Heights , Arima

Officers conducted a search of a bushy area near Hoyte Avenue and Pinto Road, Arima on Friday, June 20, 2025 between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. A black plastic bag partly concealed beneath wet debris was discovered containing 45 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition. The operation was coordinated by ACP Singh, W/Snr. Supt. Maynard-Wilson, W/Supt. Guy-Alleyne, ASP Jones, and Insp. Lewis, and supervised by Sgt. Naitram and Ag. Cpl. Durity. The exercise focused on known hotspots including bars and suspected drug blocks in Santa Rosa, Demerara Road, La Retreat Road, Heights of Guanapo, and Maturita.
